PROCRASTINATION STATION LLC — CODE OF CONDUCT
ALL MEMBERS ARE EXPECTED TO READ, UNDERSTAND, AND ABIDE BY THIS CODE OF CONDUCT AT ALL TIMES
1. PURPOSE
This Code of Conduct establishes the behavioral expectations and standards for all members of Procrastination Station LLC. The Facility is a shared creative workspace, and its quality depends entirely on the people who use it. Every member plays a direct role in making this space safe, functional, and welcoming. These rules exist to protect you, your fellow members, and the Facility itself. Violations of this Code of Conduct may result in warnings, suspension, or permanent termination of membership without refund, at the sole discretion of the owner or designated employees of Procrastination Station LLC.
2. THE GOLDEN RULE: LEAVE IT BETTER THAN YOU FOUND IT
This is the single most important expectation at Procrastination Station LLC. Every member is expected to leave every workspace, tool, machine, and common area in equal or better condition than they found it. This is not a suggestion — it is a condition of membership. Specifically:
- Clean your workspace completely when you are finished. This includes wiping down surfaces, sweeping floors, removing scraps and debris, and disposing of waste materials properly.
- Return all tools, equipment, accessories, and supplies to their designated storage locations after use. Do not leave tools on workbenches, tables, or in machines.
- Clean all tools and equipment before returning them. Remove sawdust, shavings, adhesive residue, and any other material from tools and machine surfaces.
- Empty dust collection systems, vacuum debris trays, and clear chip trays when they are full or when you are the last user of that equipment for the day.
- Dispose of hazardous materials, chemicals, solvents, and other waste in the designated containers. Never pour chemicals down drains or place hazardous materials in general waste bins.
- If you spill something, clean it up immediately. If you break something, report it immediately. If you notice something is dirty or out of place, take a moment to address it even if you did not cause it.
- Do not leave personal projects, materials, or belongings in shared workspaces unless you have been assigned designated storage. The Facility is not responsible for items left in shared areas and reserves the right to dispose of unattended materials.
The expectation is simple: if every member leaves their area a little better than they found it, the Facility stays in excellent condition for everyone. If you would be frustrated to find your workspace in the condition you are about to leave it, you are not done cleaning up.
3. RESPECT FOR FELLOW MEMBERS
Procrastination Station LLC brings together people of all backgrounds, skill levels, and interests. Mutual respect is non-negotiable.
- Treat every person in the Facility with courtesy, patience, and respect, regardless of their experience level, background, identity, or the nature of their project.
- Keep noise to a reasonable level. Be mindful that others are working and concentrating. If your work requires sustained loud noise, communicate with nearby members beforehand.
- Do not use, move, or handle another member's tools, materials, projects, or personal property without their explicit permission.
- Do not offer unsolicited criticism of another member's work, methods, or projects. If someone asks for your input, offer it constructively and kindly.
- Respect shared resources. Do not monopolize equipment, workstations, or common areas. If others are waiting, be mindful of your time and offer to share or rotate access.
- Harassment, intimidation, bullying, discriminatory language, threats, and aggressive or hostile behavior of any kind will not be tolerated. This applies to all interactions at the Facility, including verbal, written, and electronic communications.
- If another member's behavior is making you uncomfortable or creating a safety concern, do not engage in confrontation. Report the issue to the owner or an employee directly.
4. DISPUTE RESOLUTION
Disagreements will occasionally happen in a shared workspace. When they do, the following process applies:
- Members are encouraged to resolve minor disagreements respectfully and directly with one another when possible, through calm and good-faith conversation.
- If a direct resolution is not possible, or if the disagreement involves safety, property, or conduct concerns, members must bring the matter to the owner or a designated employee. Do not allow disputes to escalate.
- The owner or designated employees of Procrastination Station LLC have final authority over all disputes, including but not limited to disagreements over equipment use and scheduling, workspace allocation and storage, project priority and shared resources, interpretation and enforcement of Facility rules, and member conduct.
- All members agree to accept and abide by decisions made by the owner or designated employees regarding disputes. Refusal to comply with a resolution decision is itself a violation of this Code of Conduct.
- The Facility reserves the right to separate members, reassign workspaces, restrict equipment access, or take any other action deemed necessary to resolve a dispute and maintain a safe and productive environment.
- Retaliation against any member for reporting a concern or participating in a dispute resolution process is strictly prohibited and will result in disciplinary action up to and including termination of membership.
5. EQUIPMENT AND FACILITY CARE
- Use all equipment, tools, and machines only for their intended purposes and in accordance with posted instructions, training, and manufacturer guidelines.
- Do not modify, adjust, recalibrate, or disassemble any equipment without prior authorization from the owner or a designated employee.
- Report any equipment malfunction, damage, unusual behavior, or safety concern immediately. Do not attempt to repair equipment yourself unless specifically authorized.
- Do not remove any tools, equipment, supplies, or materials from the Facility without explicit written permission.
- Respect posted signage, labels, safety markings, and organizational systems. These exist for everyone's benefit.
6. SHARED SPACES AND COMMON AREAS
- Keep all common areas — including restrooms, break areas, entryways, hallways, and parking areas — clean and tidy.
- Clean up after yourself in kitchen and break areas. Wash your dishes, wipe down surfaces, and dispose of food waste promptly. Do not leave food or beverages unattended in workspaces.
- Do not prop open secured doors or allow non-members to enter the Facility without accompanying them and accepting full responsibility for their presence in accordance with the Facility's Indemnity Agreement.
- Keep walkways, exits, and emergency access routes clear at all times. Never block fire exits, extinguishers, first aid stations, or electrical panels.
7. SUBSTANCES
- Alcohol, recreational drugs, and cannabis are prohibited at the Facility at all times, regardless of legal status.
- Members may not enter or use the Facility while impaired by any substance, including prescription medication, that affects judgment, coordination, or the ability to safely operate equipment.
- Smoking and vaping are prohibited inside the Facility. Designated outdoor areas, if provided, must be used.
8. COMMUNICATION AND NOTIFICATIONS
- Members are responsible for reading and staying informed about Facility announcements, schedule changes, policy updates, and safety notices communicated through the Facility's designated communication channels.
- If you will be working on a project that may affect other members — such as work producing significant noise, fumes, dust, or vibration — notify nearby members and, when appropriate, Facility staff in advance.
9. GUESTS
- All guests must be accompanied by the sponsoring member at all times while in the Facility.
- The sponsoring member must ensure their guest follows all rules in this Code of Conduct.
- Guests may not operate equipment or use tools unless specifically authorized by the owner or a designated employee, and only under the direct supervision of the sponsoring member.
- The sponsoring member is fully responsible for the behavior, safety, and any damage caused by their guest.
10. ENFORCEMENT
Violations of this Code of Conduct will be addressed at the discretion of the owner or designated employees of Procrastination Station LLC. Responses may include, but are not limited to:
- A verbal or written warning identifying the violation and the expected correction;
- Temporary suspension of membership and Facility access;
- Restriction of access to specific equipment, areas, or privileges;
- Permanent termination of membership and revocation of Facility access without refund; and
- In cases involving property damage, theft, or illegal activity, referral to law enforcement.
The severity of the response will depend on the nature and frequency of the violation. However, certain conduct — including harassment, threats, violence, theft, intentional property damage, substance use at the Facility, and any behavior that creates an immediate safety risk — may result in immediate termination of membership without prior warning.
